(IDEX Online) - Jewelry buyers can now get their purchase insured immediately in-store - and receive instant confirmation by SMS.
"Jewelers no longer have to watch their customers leave their store unprotected," say insurers Zillion who have partnered with insurtech firm The Edge.
Their new system sends an insurance offer via SMS text directly to the customer while they're still in the store.
If the customer accepts it, the store's POS provides the data for policy fulfillment, and they leave with their jewlery item fully-covered.
"We are reinventing jewelry insurance and are overjoyed to be able to support jewelers and help their customers protect the things they love," said Adam Black, co-founder and managing director of Zillion.
One jewelry retailer, New York-based John Simonian, of The Source Fine Jewelers. "I was always concerned when customers left my store without insuring their purchase. This costs the jeweler nothing but adds so much goodwill to the customer relationship."...

(IDEX Online) - Polished diamond prices for April were largely in line with last month, with only small fluctuations and little in the way of dramatic movement. The majority of both rounds and fancies remained unchanged. Movement across the board was a mix of modest rises and falls, rarely above three per cent.
