(IDEX Online) - Sarine is rolling out its AI-based e-Grading technology to midstream manufacturers, allowing them carry out third-party grading of the 4Cs on site.

It means they no longer need to send stones to a grading lab, saving time and money.

The e-Grading system builds on automated 4C grading systems developed by Israel-based Sarine and available since 2016.

Sarine first announced e-Grading in March 2020 and began tests with selected manufacturers.

It is now making the technology available to the midstream manufacturing segment, with enhancements to its color and clarity grading and the option to include extra grading parameters.

David Block, CEO of Sarine Technologies, said: "With the rollout of e-Grading, initially in the manufacturing segment, Sarine brings AI-based grading to the source, providing multiple benefits and making for a more efficient, shortened and cost-effective supply chain."
